It was announced today that Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will be giving a concert on September 11, 2009 that will benefit the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund. Here are some Photos and video from the event today. Tickets will go on sale September 8th.
I am writing to say I think Jay-z is the perfect person to have preform for this event. My father Leon Smith Jr. was a Fire Fighter who gave his life in the 911 events and Jay-z’s music has helped me get through that time. He has inspired me to push when I felt like there was nothing left in me. I hope to attend the concert if I am able to get tickets but if not I am sure it will be a great concert. Kep up the great work Jay….

Not just in the entertainer sense but also in the sense that he reminded all the New Yorkers who lost somebody from 9/11 to stay strong.
